Thank you for visiting my fundraising page in support of the Alzheimer Society of Canada - Ontario. By donating on this page, you are helping to transform the lives of individuals and families living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
This year, I have a chance to support another cause near and dear to my heart: the Alzheimer Society of Ontario. As many of you know, this has touched our family and our found family, as I am sure it has in your lives as well, so I am really happy to devote my energy (and legs) to their cause.
For the past three years, I have used the Goggins Challenge (run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours) as a way to support youth mental health. It has been extremely fulfilling:
- From Kenz, our daughter, telling me, "Remember Daddy, if you get lost, call home for help," which served as a reminder that I did this challenge for the Maddie Project, so our kids and all youth have a chance to call for help if they get lost
- to the kindest of words that Grandad and Ba shared every time I completed a challenge like this, that they are very proud of me for using my running to help others
- to the connections that I've made and been able to explore on the Trillium Running Podcast for Athletics Ontario.
