Thank you for visiting my fundraising event page in support of the Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton Halton. A decade ago, my beloved grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and unfortunately passed away last year due to complications of it. Her progression with the disease was incredibly heartbreaking. She lost basic cognitive function, reaching to a point where she no longer recognized me. During her last couple of years with us, her condition further deteriorated to the extent that she had no motor control and lacked awareness of her surroundings.
Recognizing that Alzheimer's is highly prevalent in seniors, I've worked hard over the years to fundraise and promote Alzheimer's awareness to minimize its detriment to families. Nobody deserves to go through what this burdensome disease brings upon. As the President of the McMaster Alzheimer' Society, I'm eager to work alongside my team of equally passionate and hard-working members to fundraise an ambitious $5000 this month. The past two years we have fundraised a combined total of $3000, but this year I believe we can go even bigger! By donating to my event, you are helping to support programs and services provided by the Alzheimer Society to people living with dementia and their care partners living in our Hamilton community.
Every $100 and $500 raised collectively by our team will unlock a 'challenge' video, where one of our members or McMaster professors will do a wacky challenge respectively. Thank you so much for donating and I hope this initiative has provided you more perspective about Alzheimer's.
