The impact of grief and loss for staff who work with individuals living with dementia is often overlooked. Attention needs to be paid because grief and loss impact the work that we do with our clients. 

Andrea Ubell is the Director, Programs and Client Services at the Alzheimer Society of York Region, where she is responsible for supervision of the Caregiver Support & Education program and the D.A.Y. Centre programs.  For the past 25 years Andrea has been supporting families and individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Andrea has a Master’s in Social Work from Wilfred Laurier University, and post- graduate certificates in gerontology and human services management.
