Garden Wellness Cafe - Winter Series (ONLINE)
|
From the comfort of your home, you'll have a chance to meet others in a fun and supportive environment and be transported to beautiful outdoor settings this winter. We’ll start each session by awakening our senses through some gentle seated movements to get our bodies warmed up. We’ll introduce the week’s theme through poetry, art, and a short photo slideshow. We’ll also engage in a group chat, demonstrate a hands-on activity that you can try at home, and encourage participants to document their seasonal discoveries in their nature journals. Join certified forest therapy guide and horticultural therapy practitioner, Emma Rooney, as we celebrate the winter season in the garden. Learn about the language of flowers in time for Valentine's Day, uncover the secrets of the winter garden, and take time to nourish your soul with gentle forest bathing from home. We’ll conclude this winter series with a celebration to mark the start of spring. This program will be held on Zoom. Participants will be mailed program materials and expected to collect some simple supplies on their own (instructions provided). Garden Wellness Cafe is intended for people living with early to mid-stages of dementia, young onset dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
