Xenia Fall Concert: Jesse Stewart |
This dementia-friendly Xenia Concert is presented in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Toronto and Baycrest@Home. Did you know that just about anything can be an instrument? Percussionist Jesse Stewart has spent his career exploring the sonic possibilities of found objects, as well as instruments made out of wood, stone, steel, and just about everything in between. In this special Xenia Concert, Jesse will present a series of pieces for solo percussion on rare and unusual instruments. Jesse Stewart is a Canadian composer, percussionist, instrument builder, artist, educator, and community arts activist dedicated to re-imagining the spaces between artistic disciplines. Read more about Jesse here. This one-hour concert is designed to be dementia-friendly, with short musical selections, stretch breaks, and a Q&A session at the end.
