Speaker:
Linus C.F. Ip, MSW, RSW is the Clinician Leader at Behaviour Support Outreach Team at Baycrest. Apart from supporting older adults with dementia and responsive behaviors, she is interested in raising awareness of the importance of wholistic support for the wellness of healthcare professionals and family caregivers Topic: Self Care
As healthcare professionals, we often work with clients/seniors going through aging and loss and witness their sufferings and struggles. Often the issues impacting our clients are also issues we ourselves might come across in our own lives as human beings. In this learning session, we will spend time to review our own needs as a person and a healthcare professional making use of the N3C tool of SSLD (Strategies and Skills Learning and Development) Model, and to reflect on how we are understanding and addressing our own needs. We will also discuss and share real life challenges and potential strategies in learning to meet our needs while navigating and balancing demands from work and caring for others.
