A workshop for family caregivers to help gain tips for planning holidays and special occasions Participants will also learn strategies to promote meaningful communication with the person with dementia while exploring unique challenges of special occasions for both the person with dementia and their family caregivers.

Learning Objectives

  • Increase awareness of dementia-related changes that may lead to feelings of loss for family and friends during holidays and special occasions
  • Plan special occasions that respect the changing abilities of the person with dementia
  • Develop strategies for meaningful communication with the person with dementia
