Does your loved one experience one or more of the following behaviours: agitation/irritability; restlessness; physical or verbal aggression (hitting; yelling) or wandering? These behaviours may happen in the context of personal hygiene or throughout the day. If you have experienced any of the above, this discussion may help you better understand your loved one and what they are trying to communicate. Learning Objectives: About the Speaker: Emily MacPherson is a registered Occupational Therapist who works at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute within the Specialized Dementia Unit. Emily has 12 years of experience working with persons with dementia. Prior to her role at Toronto Rehab, Emily worked an Occupational Therapist on a Seniors Mental Health Behavioural unit and as a Psychogeriatric Resource Consultant at an outreach seniors mental health program. Emily worked as a Recreation Therapist for several years on a specialized dementia unit at a long term care facility in Northern Ontario.
