Xenia Concert: OKAN
|
Saturday, December 10 from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. In partnership with TO Live, Alzheimer Society of Toronto, and Baycrest@Home, Xenia Concerts is proud to present the women-led, Afro-Cuban roots and jazz ensemble, OKAN! Taking their name from the word for heart or soul in the Afro-Cuban religion of Santeria, JUNO-Award winning OKAN fuses Afro-Cuban roots with jazz, folk and global rhythms in songs about immigration, courage and love. We promise that they will have you dancing in your chairs or your own home-made dance floor, so get ready to move to the music! This dementia-friendly online concert will be broadcast live from Meridian Hall over Zoom, so you can listen however you’re most comfortable, interact with one another, and ask questions in the chat. Xenia Concerts welcomes all listeners, so invite your families! Concert Features:
